IT Business Systems Analyst

Job Summary

Our client, a leading clean energy company, is seeking an experienced IT Business Systems Analyst to support technology initiatives and business process improvements. This is a 12-month contract opportunity with a fully remote work arrangement.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, gathering requirements, analyzing systems, and supporting the delivery of effective solutions. You will apply your years of experience to drive clarity, improve workflows, and ensure that technology investments align with business goals.

What you'll do

• Elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements from stakeholders across multiple business units.
• Analyze existing systems and processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Translate business needs into clear technical specifications for development and configuration teams.
• Facilitate meetings, workshops, and requirement review sessions with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support testing efforts by developing test scenarios, coordinating user acceptance testing, and tracking defects to resolution.
• Create and maintain documentation including process flows, use cases, data mappings, and training materials.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a related analytical role.
• Strong experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
• Proficiency with business analysis tools and techniques, including process modeling and data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience supporting system implementation, integration, or enhancement projects.

Nice to have

• Experience in the energy, utilities, or clean energy sector.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of SQL, data analysis tools, or reporting platforms.
