About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced AI Developer – Lead to join a science and research team supporting advanced analytics and applied AI initiatives.

This is a long-term contract opportunity based onsite in St.

What you'll do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex technical solutions, including problem framing, technical decision-making, and execution.
• Apply physics-based modeling, machine learning, optimization, and AI methods to solve operational and business problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning data science and software engineering on production systems, deployed models, and shared deliverables.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot for coding, debugging, documentation, and prototyping.
• Translate technical work into clear business narratives, explaining the problem, approach, and measurable impact to non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to the team's technical direction and help raise the bar for applied data science practices.

What you'll bring

• 10+ years in industry, with demonstrated measurable business impact from technical work.
• Strong communication skills: able to explain a past technical project in 1–2 minutes to a non-technical audience, covering the business problem, approach.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot) in daily technical workflows.
• Proven independent technical leadership: owning and delivering complex solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Experience working on cross-functional teams involving both data science and software engineering, including production systems or deployed models.

Nice to have

• Industry experience in energy, utilities, industrials, logistics, or other operational domains.
