Principal AI Developer

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a principal-level AI Developer to provide technical vision and organizational leadership for enterprise AI initiatives while remaining hands-on in writing code. This role defines and owns the enterprise-wide AI technical architecture, leads highly complex and high-impact AI transformations, and serves as a trusted subject matter expert to executive leadership.

In this position, you will establish governance and ethical AI frameworks, set long-term technical standards, mentor top technical talent, and cultivate future leaders. You will also anticipate industry trends and guide strategic investment in emerging AI technologies.

What you'll do

• Define and own the enterprise-wide AI technical architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business goals.
• Lead highly complex, high-impact AI transformations from concept through production deployment.
• Serve as a trusted subject matter expert to executive leadership, translating technical strategy into business value.
• Establish governance and ethical AI frameworks that guide responsible AI development and deployment.
• Set long-term technical standards and best practices for AI/ML engineering across the organization.
• Mentor top technical talent and cultivate future leaders through coaching, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in software engineering and applied AI.
• Strong Python proficiency with a track record of production-grade code.
• Proven experience designing scalable distributed AI systems.
• Recognized expert in AI/ML with enterprise-scale impact.
